INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION essentially covers all communication that takes place between people from different countries. It does not matter whether you speak different languages or use the same language or a third language such as English to communicate. Intercultural communication refers to any communication we have with non-native speakers.
C
CULTURE is a concept with which we describe our traditions, customs and habits. Every country, every culture has its own characteristics. As different and individual as each person is, as different and individual are the different cultures in the world. Through the acquisition of INTERCULTURAL COMPETENCE one becomes sensitised to these differences.
E
EXCHANGE is the exchange, but also the language we use to communicate with people from other countries, cultures or continents. We need language in order to communicate with people from other countries.
